Events, Programs & Opportunities
Events and Programs
The most important thing to be aware of, is that you can invite your friends and family! Most of our events will include a number of Community Member tickets. Selecting this option will reduce the ticket price to match any out of pocket expense being asked of NDIS Participants – we will cover the rest because we believe genuine inclusion is the best way to break down lifelong barriers to inclusion for everyone.
Events that include an outing or paid activity will charge a small out of pocket expense that is not NDIS claimable. When you click on the links you will see the full event price listed for each event. When you book a ticket, you will be given the option to identify as an NDIS Participant or a Community Member.
Out of pocket expenses will need to paid at the time of booking and NDIS related fees will be billed after the event date. If you are experiencing personal circumstances that may prevent you from being able to contribute the out of pocket expense, please contact us to request assistance.
Opportunities to Volunteer and Connect
As a team of support workers and community advocates, we have taken responsibility for maintaining and growing the garden in the Wardli Youth Centre on McKinna Rd, Christies Beach.
If you are a person who enjoys the garden and would like to volunteer your time to support this project please connect with us. We can also offer specific support services in the garden where this is beneficial for the participant.
This is an NDIS program designed to support young people living with disability in developing work placement skills. Participants will learn how to engage in customer service, prepare simple meals, manage basic point of sale and money handling, and basic barista skills.
The Cadetship is provided in 2 hour blocks weekly, over a 3 week period and includes follow up support at completion of contact hours to consolidate knowledge and plan for the next step, whatever that may be.
This program is provided at the Meeting Place MV in McLaren Vale.
Family Wellbeing Support Group
We understand that living with a person who has a disability can challenging and isolating at times – sometimes all the time! On Friday mornings our comfortable workshop space is open for family and informal carers to join us for a cuppa and a chat.
Our Participant Support Officer leads this group and will provide information and support as required, depending on current participants. You are welcome to bring your children as our space does allow for flexibility, and the service is free
